In 2008, Software Certifications selected Prometric, a world leader in assessment testing services, as its partner for the administration of the CSQA & CSTE certification examinations. Prometric's international network of testing centers provides the framework needed to support Software Certifications global needs. Prometric's Test Center network affords site security and content integrity through a combination of live proctors, closed-circuit television systems and biometric security procedures. Candidates can now schedule their CSQA & CSTE examination with a Prometric Testing Center in their hometown, in or outside of the United States.
IMPORTANT:
Prometric Test Centers are NOT available in the following areas - Belarus, India, and Sri Lanka (see Sponsored Site Schedule). Exams taken at a Prometric Test Center in one of those areas will NOT be accepted and the candidate will forfeit any fees already paid. |
| General Information |
The CSQA / CSTE certification examinations are the ONLY exams currently available through Prometric.
Candidates planning on taking a CSQA or CSTE certification exam at a Prometric Test Center must first complete the application process online through the Customer Service Portal, then paid the application fee before they can obtain an Eligibility ID and Schedule an Examination.
The seats for a CSQA / CSTE examinations offered daily at a Prometric Test Centers are based on availability. Most centers are open Monday - Saturday, however in some locations that may differ. The farther out you attempt to schedule an exam the better the chances are of finding a seat at a center near you so plan accordingly.
Waiting until the last minute to try and schedule an exam is not recommended, especially if your application expiration is fast approaching as there is no guarantee you will be able tot find a seat. If you are unsure of the application expiration status email certify@softwarecertifications.org. |
| Locating a Prometric Test Center |
To locate a Prometric Test Center for a CSQA / CSTE Examination ONLY follow the instructions listed below.
Locating a Prometric Test Center
- Go to the Prometric site and then click the Start tab.
- Select the Country from the drop-down where you would like to schedule your appointment, then the State if applicable, then hit Next.
NOTE: Prometric is NOT available in the following areas - Belarus, India, and Sri Lanka.
- Find the Locate a Test Site link and click.
- Make your Exam Selection (CSQA / CSTE ONLY) from the drop-down, then hit Next.
- To find a testing location(s), enter an address, city/state, or zip/postal code in the search box and then click search.

- Select the Country from the drop-down where you would like to schedule your appointment, then the State if applicable, then hit Next.

- Find the Search for Availability link and click.
- Make your Exam Selection (CSQA / CSTE ONLY) from the drop-down, then hit Next.
- To find a testing location(s), enter an address, city/state, or zip/postal code in the search box and then click search.
- To view available dates / times for the selected location click on the Availability link.
Understand that due to eligibility rules and other circumstances, the offered seats can change when scheduling the exam and you may be asked to select another date and time. |
| Eligibility ID |
An Eligibility ID is required in order to be able schedule a CSQA / CSTE certification examination with a Prometric Test Center. If you do not already have an ID then follow the instructions listed below.
Eligibility ID
- Go to the My Examination page in the Customer Portal.
- Click on Pick Scheduling Option link.
- Click on the Prometric Site tab.
- Review the warning:
NOTE: Prometric is NOT available in the following areas - Belarus, India, and Sri Lanka.
- If it does not apply to you then click on the Continue with Prometric to receive Eligibility ID.
- Click OK if sure to have your information sent to Prometric and a code assigned.
The Eligibility ID will appear on the My Examination page in the Customer Portal and could take up to three days to process. |
| Scheduling an Examination |
To schedule a CSQA / CSTE certification examination at a Prometric Test Center a candidate MUST first have an Eligibility ID (see above) and then follow the instructions listed below.
Scheduling an Examination
- Go to the Prometric site and then click the Start tab.
- Select the Country from the drop-down where you would like to schedule your appointment, then the State if applicable, then hit Next.
NOTE: Prometric is NOT available in the following areas - Belarus, India, and Sri Lanka.
- Find the Schedule an Exam link and click.
- Follow the steps as you will be guided through the entire scheduling process making sure to review all the information provided throughout the process carefully.

| Rescheduling / Canceling an Examination |
Review Prometric's Rescheduling / Cancellation policy for computer-based CSQA / CSTE examinations before proceeding.
You will need your Confirmation / Tracking Number which was provided by Prometric at the completion of your exam scheduling. |
You can either go to the Prometric site and following the steps below, or use their automated voice response system at: 800-861-9072 x4519; both are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Prometric Rescheduling / Cancellation
- Go to the Prometric site and then click the Start tab.
- Select the Country from the drop-down where you would like to schedule your appointment, then the State if applicable, then hit Next.
- Find the Reschedule or Cancel an Exam link and click.
- Enter your Confirmation/Tracking Number and First 4 Letters of Last Name, then hit next.
- Review the information and click either the I want to reschedule my appointment or cancel my appointment tab.

| What Time to Arrive at a Prometric Testing Center |
| Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in procedures. If you are late in arriving, you will not be allowed to test and will forfeit your exam fee. The examination will take roughly 4 1/2 hours to complete which includes breaks. A break will NOT be permitted during the taking of any part of the examination. |
| What to Bring to a Prometric Testing Center |
You will be required to present one valid, government-issued photo ID with a signature (e.g., driver's license or passport). If you are testing outside of your country of citizenship, you must present a valid passport. If you are testing within your country of citizenship, you must present either a valid passport, driver's license, national ID or military ID. The identification document must be in Latin characters and contain your photograph and signature. All other personal items must be locked in a locker for test security purposes, so please limit what you bring to the testing center.
IMPORTANT:
The name entered into the Customer Portal and during scheduling with Prometric must match that of the ID being presented during check-in at Prometric. If they do not match you will NOT be granted entrance. |
