Category F - Unique and Innovative Activities

Up to 20 CPE credits per year may be claimed for job related activities over and above basic job description activities. To qualify the tasks must be unique and innovative to the organization or industry, and must be attested to by the certificant's employer as being highly unusual for the job performance expected of the certficant.

Credits claimed as unique and innovative job tasks must be accompanied by supporting documentation illustrating the unique and innovative nature of the tasks claimed. Activity must be fully described in order to obtain credit. An example of unique and innovative job tasks may be installing a company-wide quality improvement program process, a quality award program, or demonstrating a significant organizational shift in quality improvement. Supporting documentation will be required for credits to be accepted.

It is understood that as individuals remain in a particular industry their skills and knowledge of that industry will be enhanced. For this reason, work-related projects will not be accepted for CPE credit unless they can be documented as truly unique and innovative activities. If claiming credits in this category, enclose a complete description of the activity claimed, and two testimonial letters from customers, suppliers, or managers describing why the effort should be considered unique and innovative relative to typical certificant job responsibilities. Testimonial letters must also include the name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the individual offering the testimonial.

Activities in this category are reported using the Category F Addendum . One activity is reported per form.
